Loyola Tops Stanford

Outside hitter Sio Saipaia had 22 kills and middle blocker Chris Young added 17 Wednesday night to lead the Loyola Marymount men’s volleyball team to its first-ever victory over visiting Stanford, 16-14, 15-12, 5-15, 15-4.
Loyola, ranked eighth in the nation, improved to 9-9 overall and 6-9 in the Western Intercollegiate Volleyball Assn., while third-ranked Stanford fell to 8-4 and 8-3.
