In another City Western League game:

La Jolla 6, University City 5--La Jolla came back from a 5-0 deficit with two runs in the second and four in the fifth.

City Central League

San Diego 4, Hoover 2--San Diego (9-3, 17-7) pulled into a tie for first place with Crawford, but will take the league’s top seed into the playoffs because it finished 2-1 against Crawford. Josh Stepner struck out nine to move his season total to 53.

Madison 9, Lincoln 6--Madison (8-4, 14-10) could have pulled into second-place had San Diego lost, but should get an at-large bid in the playoffs with its third-place finish. Matt Campbell went three for four with a double, triple and five RBIs.

City Eastern League

Mira Mesa 2, Morse 1--Marc Nielsen (6-2) pitched a four-hitter and went two for three with an RBI to help Mira Mesa end the season on a high note. Nielsen scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth. Drew Arnold tripled twice for Mira Mesa (18-7, 7-5).

Serra 6, Point Loma 3--The loss gave Point Loma a league title tie with Patrick Henry. Both teams finished the season at 9-4.

City Harbor League

Clairemont 5, St. Augustine 3--Clairemont (8-4, 15-12) upset the first-place team (9-3, 17-10) as its top three batters had multiple-hit efforts: Antoine Henry went two for two, two runs scored; James Gertenslager went two for three, two RBIs; and Dave Salonius two for two, two RBIs and two doubles.

Metro Conference

Montgomery 8, Southwest 3--Seven players had two or more hits for Montgomery, including Jose Lorenzana and Miguel Perez, who were three for five. The victory gives Montgomery a one-game lead over Southwest, with one game remaining. David Silva improved to 8-2.

Hilltop 1, Bonita Vista 0--A day after forfeiting all its victories, Hilltop (1-12) erased the zero in its won column when John Garibay singled home Art Gayton from second. Gayton was running for Paul Stojsavljavic who had had doubled.

Chula Vista 8, Mar Vista 0--Matthew Salts went four for four with three RBIs for Chula Vista (5-8, 10-14-1).

Castle Park 5, Sweetwater 2--Kiko Palacios went two for three with an RBI and a run for Castle Park (9-4, 18-10).

1-A Coastal League

Julian 3, Santa Fe Christian 1--Vic Degadello homered, hit a double, scored two runs and drove in a run for Julian (8-2, 14-7). Santa Fe Christian fell to 4-6, 4-13.

La Jolla Country Day 8, Francis Parker 3--Damian Campbell (2-2) went four for four with a double and two RBIs and got the victory for La Jolla Country Day (8-14-1, 6-4-1).
