Laguna Beach’s Leach Faces Dana Hills’ Stevens in Round of 16

Jon Leach of Laguna Beach High School plays Ben Stevens of Dana Hills in the Southern Section individual tennis tournament round of 16 today at SeaCliff Tennis Club in Huntington Beach.

Leach, a junior, won the title as a freshman and was the runner-up last year. Stevens led Dana Hills into the semifinals of the 4-A team playoffs.

In other 1 p.m. singles matches:

--Brett Hansen-Dent of Newport Harbor, who beat Leach for the Ojai Valley tennis tournament 18-and-under title last month, plays Tom Zelenovic of La Canada.

--Adam Peterson, a sophomore at Mater Dei who won the 16s titles at the Easter Bowl tournament in Miami and the Ojai tournament, faces Dave Murphy of Pasadena Poly.

--Cameron Lindee of Loara faces Ari Nathan of Brentwood.

--Willie Dann of University plays Ryan Junio of Gahr.
