Grayson Named Westlake Coach

Share

Gary Grayson, an assistant basketball coach for four years at Canyon High, has been selected as the boys’ varsity coach at Westlake High. Grayson succeeds Greg Hess, who accepted an assistant coaching position at Cal Lutheran.

Grayson, 31, also coached the junior varsity team at Canyon High.

“Westlake is a good program and I was very much interested in moving up,” Grayson said of Westlake (13-10, 7-5 in league play), which finished in a three-way tie for third in the Marmonte League last season.

Prior to his arrival at Canyon, Grayson coached the freshman team for three seasons at St. Bernard High in Playa Del Rey and was the junior varsity coach for two years at Van Nuys High.
