An arson fire that had burned 115 acres in Cajon Pass was brought under control late Wednesday night despite gusting winds, a U.S. Forest Service spokesman said. He said full containment of the fire is expected today.
No homes were damaged, but for a time Wednesday a ranch occupied by 20 people in the Lost Lake area had been in danger.
The fire began about 1 p.m. Wednesday two miles west of Interstate 15 in the Swarthout Canyon area. Aircraft and firefighters from the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management and the state were called to the scene.
