P.M. BRIEFING : Woosnam Leads European Open
Ian Woosnam, shooting a 2-under-par 68 today, took a one-stroke lead after two rounds of the European Open golf championship with a 36-hole score of 133.
Woosnam, who won this title two years ago, leads Jose-Maria Olazabal of Spain, Sweden’s Magnus Sunesson and former English amateur champion Steven Richardson, who are tied for second.
Olazabal shot a 69, Sunesson repeated his first round 67 but Richardson fired a 66 to move closer to the lead.
Masters and British Open champion Nick Faldo shot a 70, which left him five strokes off the pace.
