CSUN Soccer Team Blanked in Evansville

It is difficult enough to play the home team in the opening round of its own tournament. And it is even more difficult when that team happens to be Evansville, the No. 2-ranked men’s soccer team in the country.

Evansville (8-0-2) had little trouble defeating Cal State Northridge, 2-0, in the first round of the Aces’ Soccer Classic on Friday night in Evansville, Ind.

Evansville led Northridge, 1-0, at halftime. The Aces, ranked second nationally behind Santa Clara, outshot Northridge, 10-5.

Northridge (3-5-2), which was shut out for the fifth time this season, will close its stay in the four-team tournament with a match against Dayton on Sunday.
