Men Force Truck to Curb, Kill Driver
Suspected gang members shot and fatally wounded a man as he drove through Panorama City Wednesday afternoon, Los Angeles police said.
The shooting occurred shortly before 1 p.m. as the victim drove north on Cedros Avenue, Sgt. Chuck Peterson said. Witnesses told police four men in a mid-1980s gold or tan car pulled alongside the victim’s mini-pickup truck, forcing the driver to the curb and shooting him several times. He died an hour later at Panorama Community Hospital.
The victim was identified as Rafael Cordero Alzaga, 20, of Sylmar.
