In the Cerritos water polo tournament:

Cypress 11, Warren 6--John Lin had three goals and goalkeeper John Panagos had 16 saves to help Cypress (14-2) win the championship game at Cerritos College.

Panagos also had 11 saves in Cypress’ 12-4 victory over Kenney in a semifinal game.

In the Orange County Invitational tennis tournament at Costa Mesa High School, Irvine freshman Milvia Schinaia defeated Holly Meyers of Marina, 6-3, 6-7, 6-1, to win the singles championship. In a semifinal match earlier in the day, Schinaia defeated her twin sister Allesandra, 6-4, 6-3. Meyers defeated Heather Stewart of Huntington Beach, 6-4, 6-3, to gain the final.
