ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Senior Kevin Knope kicked the longest field goal recorded in New York state high school football, connecting on a 58-yarder Saturday on his home field at Greece Olympia High School in suburban Rochester.

“It seemed like it was in the air for 10 minutes,” Knope said. “It was right in the middle, but I couldn’t tell whether it went over or under the bar until the ref came out and put his arms up.”
