Fire Causes $300,000 Damage to Apartments
A fire that started in the garage of a Northridge apartment complex spread to three units in the building, causing an estimated $300,000 in damage, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported Saturday.
About 45 firefighters battled the blaze, which broke out about 7:30 p.m. Friday at the two-story complex in the 18500 block of Marilla Street, Fire Department spokesman Greg Acevedo said.
The fire spread from the garage into an attic shared by the apartment units, Acevedo said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation, but firefighters said the fire may have been started by a car.
No one was injured, Acevedo said.
