Pacific Falls Despite Kopp’s Record Night
Garrett Gabriel passed for three touchdowns as Hawaii beat the University of the Pacific, 35-24, Saturday night despite a record-setting performance by Tiger quarterback Troy Kopp.
Kopp, a graduate of Mission Viejo High School, completed 42 of 73 passes for 390 yards and three touchdowns, breaking single-season school records for passing attempts, completions and yards.
Gabriel, meanwhile, tied the Rainbow record for career touchdown passes. After completing a 45-yard scoring pass to Darrick Branch on the last play of the game, Gabriel tied the mark of 33 set by Larry Arnold.
