COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Victory Gives Orange Coast Tie for Soccer Title

Orange Coast College clinched a share of the Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer title with a 4-0 victory over Cypress Thursday at Cypress.

Orange Coast, the defending state champion, tied with Irvine Valley. Both finished 10-1-3 in conference play. Irvine Valley won a forfeit victory over Rancho Santiago Thursday.

Darin Courter and Andy Strouse each had two goals for Orange Coast (13-5-3, 10-1-3). Cypress ends 7-11-2, 5-8-1.

In Orange Empire Conference women’s volleyball:

Golden West 3, Rancho Santiago 0--In a match that took only 45 minutes, the host Rustlers (16-1, 11-0) clinched the conference title, 15-4, 15-2, 15-6, their 53rd consecutive conference victory. Kysha Green had seven kills and three blocks, and Tania Grasselli had six blocks for Golden West. Rancho Santiago is 1-14 and 0-10.
