PRO FOOTBALL REPORT : WEEKDAY UPDATE : RAIDERS : Dyal Put on Injured Reserve Again
The Raiders put tight end Mike Dyal on injured reserve because of a pulled hamstring Wednesday and signed free-agent wide receiver Keith McDonald. Dyal, who started all 16 games in 1989, suffered the injury in Week 2 this season against the Seattle Seahawks and had been on injured reserve until last Sunday, when he was activated before the 23-20 victory over the Broncos in Denver. However, he was injured again in the fourth quarter.
The team also announced that it had signed tight end Rich Bartlewski and added him to the practice squad.
Detroit Coach Wayne Fontes said Wednesday that former USC star Rodney Peete would start at quarterback for the Lions against the Raiders Monday night at Pontiac, Mich. Peete had been plagued in recent weeks by a hamstring injury.
