Mira Mesa 59, La Jolla 38--Mike Phillips scored 14 points and had 17 rebounds to lead Mira Mesa (3-2). Teammate Quantell Donigan added 10 points and five rebounds. Mira Mesa led 33-17 at halftime.

Kearny 53, Point Loma 46--Kearny overcame a 16-6 first-quarter deficit with an 18-5 second-quarter surge to beat Point Loma (1-5), whose Eddie Greer led all scorers with 17 points. Mike Oriedo scored 14 for Kearny.

Sweetwater 69, Hilltop 55--Melvin Rushing scored 28 points for Sweetwater. Merdel Nafarette and Patereos Woodson each scored 15 points for Sweetwater. Courtney Brown led Hilltop with 17 points.

Norsemen/Warhawk Tournament

Mt. Carmel 89, Mt. Miguel 44--Mt. Carmel (5-0) jumped to a 44-16 halftime lead. Ryan Wootton led Mt. Carmel with 21 points and Bill Landry added 14. Mt. Miguel’s Domingo Rivera led all scorers with 27 points.

Grossmont Tournament

San Pasqual 68, Grossmont 62--Grossmont, aided by seven three-point baskets, led by five entering the fourth quarter, but San Pasqual’s Erik Meek scored 18 of his 33 points in the final eight minutes. Meek also had 13 rebounds. David Durst scored 14 and Richard Stark 13 for San Pasqual (3-0).

Helix 53, Santana 47--Santana (2-2) missed six free throws in the second quarter to give Helix a 28-22 halftime edge, which proved to be the difference in the game. Chad Berry scored 16 points and Robert Ervin added 14 for Santana. Helix (3-3) was led by Lloyd Lake with 22 points and Gary Walton with 10.

Clairemont 75, El Cajon Valley 62--Alex Love scored 32 points and had 11 rebounds, and sophomore John Brady and junior Rahsaan Brown each scored 14 for Clairemont (2-2).

Vista Tournament

Rancho Bernardo 71, Orange Glen 64--David Santos made 10 of 12 shots from the field, scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Rancho Bernardo (2-2) in the seventh-place game. Bill McMahon scored 21 points and Greg Hanson 16 for the Broncos. Brian Scofield scored 20 for Orange Glen.

James Waldal Tournament

Torrey Pines 63, USDHS 49--Dan Reynaga went eight for eight from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter and finished with 17 points to lead Torrey Pines (3-0). John Allred added 14 points and Peter Bates scored 13 and had nine rebounds. Dave Withers made seven three-point baskets and led USDHS (2-1) with 26 points.

Trabuco Hills Tournament

Long Beach Jordan 81, Rancho Buena Vista 80--No. 1 ranked RBV (0-3) missed an outside jumper at the buzzer despite scoring the game’s final eight points. Darryl Parker scored 26 points and Brad Grubaugh scored 25 for RBV.

Laguna Beach Tournament

Fallbrook 50, San Clemente 41--Chris Miller led Fallbrook with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Bob Nolan scored nine and Allen Yang added eight for Fallbrook (3-1). Fallbrook led 24-16 at halftime.

Elsinore Tournament

Yuciapa 64, Ramona 62--Alfonso De La Nuez tied the game with a three-point basket in the final minute, but Yucaipa scored with three seconds left to win the tournament’s third-place game. De La Nuez scored 39 for Ramona (2-2), and Cody Cunningham scored eight points and had seven rebounds.

El Camino 83, Bloomington (Redlands) 74--El Camino (2-1) trailed by as many as 20 points in the first quarter before coming back to win the consolation championship. Heath McCoy scored 31 for El Camino, which got 26 from Jeff Reeves and 13 from Shaun Scurry 13.

Coca-Cola Small Schools Tournament

Bishop’s 76, Christian 63--Bishop’s had a three-point lead at the end of the third quarter but outscored Christian, 23-13, in the fourth to clinch the semifinal victory. Christian’s Dave Piester led all scorers with 25 points and Justin Bloom scored 16 for Bishop’s.

Chadwick 65, Avalon 38--Mac McKinnie scored 16 points for Chadwick and Travis McKay led Avalon with 10 points this semifinal game.

Chadwick 66, The Bishop’s School 42--Evan Calbi, the tournament MVP, scored 22 points in Chadwick’s 66-42 victory over of Bishop’s in the championship finals. Neil Thakur scored 12 and Joe Giaconi had 10 for Chadwick. Steve Runyan was the high scorer for Bishop’s with 16.

Marian 63, La Jolla Country Day 58--Marian trailed by one at the end of the third quarter but outscored LJCD 23-17 in the fourth quarter in this consolation game. Jamarr Brown and Beto Martinez each scored 15 points for Marian. Josh Tepper scored 18 and Jason Boyle added 17 for LJCD.

Capistrano Valley Christian 50, Parker 43--Capo Valley Christian, which led 21-18 at halftime, was led by Nathan Owens with 23 points. J.T. Miller led Parker with 15 in this consolation game.
