Mater Dei Advances on Wyns’ Penalty Kick

Shawn Wyns scored on a penalty kick early in second half and Mater Dei held on to beat San Marcos, 1-0, in a second-round game of the Damien tournament.

In a first-round game, Mater Dei defeated El Dorado in a sudden-death shootout, 5-4, after a 2-2 score at the end of regulation. Rich Mills and R.J. Kelly scored in regulation for Mater Dei. Tommy Evans blocked a shot in penalty kicks for Mater Dei (8-2).
