An Agoura Hills man accused of beating a Pittsburgh Steelers fan at a Raiders’ game has been arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said Wednesday.

Shane C. Geringer, 20, was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Saturday by deputies who saw him driving erratically on Las Virgenes Road in Calabasas, Deputy Susan Cross said.

“They observed him come to a stop for a red light and all of a sudden he just drove through it,” Cross said.

The deputies stopped Geringer, smelled alcohol on the man’s breath and took him into custody without incident, she said. “He was very cooperative.”

Geringer’s blood-alcohol level was 0.14, nearly twice the legal limit of 0.08.

He is scheduled to appear in Malibu Municipal Court Feb. 6 for arraignment on a drunk-driving charge.

Geringer is free on $30,000 bail following his arraignment last month on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and battery causing serious bodily injury.

He pleaded not guilty to beating a Pittsburgh Steelers’ fan unconscious during a Raiders-Steelers game in September.

Police said Geringer had been drinking when he beat and kicked Paul Albrecht, 35, in the head.

Albrecht had been walking through the Raiders’ section wearing a Steelers’ shirt when he was attacked.

The Tucson, Ariz., man suffered a broken jaw, briefly lapsed into a coma and was hospitalized for more than a week.

Geringer’s lawyer, Leslie Abramson, has described him as a “fanatic Raiders’ fan” who has a drinking problem.

As a result of the incident the Coliseum Commission banned alcohol sales at a subsequent Raiders’ game and later voted to restrict sales at future games.
