Mike Riley, an offensive lineman at Fountain Valley High School, has orally committed to play football at California, Fountain Valley Coach Mike Milner said Monday.

Riley, 6-foot-6 and 250 pounds, chose Cal over Arizona State, Washington State and Army. He canceled trips to Fresno State and University of the Pacific before committing.

Riley is the second county player to commit to Cal, joining Capistrano Valley defensive back Jeremy Brion.

Other players announcing their college choices Monday were Santiago defensive end Noa Pua (Washington State), Rancho Alamitos quarterback Chris Singletary (New Mexico), Rancho Alamitos tight end Eric Moore (Washington State) and Edison receiver Mike Cunningham (Weber State).

Wednesday is the first day football players can sign national letters of intent with colleges.

Pua, 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds, turned down San Diego State and Colorado State to commit to the Cougars.

Pua will be teammates at Washington State with Moore. Moore, 6-5 and 210 pounds, turned down San Diego State after visiting Washington State last week.

Moore, an all-Garden Grove League selection at tight end, was recruited at several positions, including linebacker and defensive back.

Singletary, who led Rancho Alamitos to the Southern Section Division VI semifinals, chose New Mexico over Hawaii, San Diego State and Washington State.
