COMMUNITY COLLEGE BASEBALL ROUNDUP : Cypress Excels in All Phases in 16-5 Victory

Troy Babbit had two hits, including a home run, as Cypress defeated Allan Hancock College, 16-5, in a nonconference baseball game Thursday at Cypress College.

Tom Puppe went four for four and scored two runs and Doug McConathy was three for five with four runs batted in for Cypress (9-3). John Trejo (1-0) pitched six shutout innings, allowing five hits and striking out three for Cypress.

In another nonconference game:

Fullerton 13, L.A. Valley 5--Fullerton scored three runs in the first inning and five in the second to make the score 8-1. Fullerton (12-5) was led by Chris Johnson’s three hits and two RBIs and Tom Wilson’s two hits and two RBIs. Johnny Gump (1-0) was the winning pitcher.
