Vendor Says Rules Throw Him for Loss

Share

In a nutshell, Roger Owens is miffed.

The famed Dodger Stadium behind-the-back-tossing peanut vendor has a new employer since Marriott Corp. took over Dodger Stadium concessions.

Owens’ problem Friday night was that he had to hand out the peanut bags, claiming Marriott gave him a list of rules that prohibits him from throwing his wares.

Marriott representatives who were at the game said they knew of no reason why Owens shouldn’t be throwing.

Owens said vendors were called to a meeting Wednesday and told not to toss their goods, putting a crimp in his popular behind-the-back, three-at-a-time routine.

Owens hopes to be able to return to the motto printed on his business card: “People come from everywhere/Just to see him throw a pair.”
