Ex-Boyfriend Arrested in Slaying of Woman
A Los Angeles police officer--alerted at a roll call less than three hours earlier--pulled over a car Tuesday in Santa Monica and arrested a suspect in the slaying of the man’s ex-girlfriend.
Officer Martin Spann saw a car fitting the description of the victim’s stolen auto, recognized its license number and stopped the driver, Hussain Ali, at 7th and Alvarado streets.
Police said Ali, 37, had been sought in the slaying of Valerie Jenkins, 30, whose body was found Sunday in her apartment on Ocean Park Boulevard. Ali was turned over to Santa Monica police.
