Antelope Valley 11, Quartz Hill 7--Todd Barnes had three runs batted in as Antelope Valley (4-6, 2-2) won a Golden League game.

Raul McNaughton (2-2) pitched four innings for the win and Rick Nickols picked up his second save. Phillip King and Bryan Matthews also drove in two runs for the Antelopes. Rob Keller went two for four for Quartz Hill (1-3 in league play).

Calabasas 8, Santa Paula 1--Calabasas won its sixth game in its past seven outings as Alex Armacost went four for four with three runs scored, two doubles and an RBI in a Frontier League game at Calabasas.

Moorpark 2, Bishop Diego 1--Moorpark’s Brad Taylor pitched a one-hitter in a Tri-Valley League game at Moorpark.

Glendale 5, Hoover 3 (10 innings)--Ryan Chapman squeezed home the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th and scored on a triple by Keith Hopkins as Glendale won a Pacific League game. Chapman was three for four with three RBIs and Eric Kiesaw (2-0) pitched 4 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.

Arcadia 13, Crescenta Valley 4--Andy Saltsman and Josh Willis each had two hits in a losing effort for Crescenta Valley (9-4, 5-1) in a battle of unbeaten Pacific League teams at Arcadia.

Schurr 12, Burroughs 8--Bob Sherwood went two for three with three RBIs for Burroughs (2-11, 1-6). Burroughs pitcher Mike Rossiter missed his start because of an aggravated blister.

Hueneme 4, Ventura 0--Mike Ortega doubled and hit a grand slam to lead Hueneme (9-4, 2-3) in a Channel League game. Karl Whitnall (2-2) tossed a seven-hitter and recorded his first shutout. Faith Baptist 6, Brentwood 4--Darren Wyre (3-1) went the distance and had two hits for Faith Baptist (6-4, 2-0) in a Delphic League game. John Miller hit a two-run home run for Faith Baptist.

Providence 4, Windward 0--Freshman right-hander Robert Mena (4-1) threw a two-hitter, struck out seven and walked none in a Liberty League game.

Oak Park 7, Carpinteria 2--Zach Sterling had two doubles and Jason Kane added two hits for Oak Park in a Tri-Valley League game at Carpinteria.

Simi Valley 2, Agoura 1--Kathy Beasley’s suicide-squeeze bunt scored Taina Tande in the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie and gave the Pioneers (12-2, 5-1) a Marmonte League victory over the host Chargers.

Royal 1, Thousand Oaks 0--Royal (3-3 in league play) scored in the fifth on a throwing error to beat the host Lancers (6-5, 4-1) in a Marmonte League game.

Camarillo 1, Newbury Park 0--Bonnie Billups singled home a run in the eighth to give the Scorpions (4-1 in league play) a Marmonte League victory over Newbury Park (9-4, 2-3). Camarillo’s Laurie Richardson threw a two-hitter and struck out 13.

Santa Paula 15, Calabasas 1--Tara Sanders drove in five runs and hit two home runs to pace Santa Paula (4-6, 4-0) to a Frontier League win.

Montclair Prep 17, Maranatha 4--Tamara Silvera went three for three and had five RBIs to lead the Mounties (7-5, 1-1) in an Alpha League game.

Canyon 1, Burroughs (R) 0 (9 innings)--Canyon (8-4) went hitless in the Golden League game, but scored on a wild pitch in the ninth.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Crespi d. Notre Dame, 15-11, 11-15, 16-14, 16-14--Tom Black had 25 kills and Frank Romano added 20 kills for Crespi (7-1, 5-1) in a Mission League match at Crespi. Notre Dame was led by Steve Card, who notched 16 kills, two blocks and three aces.
