Share

Wide receiver David Poltl is one of four Capistrano Valley High School players selected for the South team that will participate in the 32nd Orange County All-Star football game, which is scheduled July 12 at Orange Coast College’s LeBard Stadium.

Poltl set a county record by catching 175 passes during his three-year career, including 86 receptions last fall. Poltl’s mark of 86 catches is second to former Los Alamitos standout Robby Katzaroff, who caught 93 passes in 1985.

Rob Johnson of El Toro and Josh Gingrich of Edison are the team’s quarterbacks.

Capistrano Valley, the Southern Section Division II champion, had four players selected. Defensive backs Bernie Chapman and Jeremy Brion and linebacker Motor Mosebrook will join Poltl on the team. Eric Patton of Capistrano Valley will coach the team.
