Ex-Mater Dei Coach Campbell Takes Job at Santa Margarita
Carolyn Campbell, a highly successful girls’ basketball coach at Mater Dei High School for five seasons, has been named girls’ varsity basketball coach at Santa Margarita.
Campbell was an assistant for two seasons at Mater Dei before being named head coach in 1983. She led the Monarchs to five consecutive league titles.
Campbell resigned in 1987 to devote time to her family. Campbell, who lives in Rancho Santa Margarita, will serve as a walk-on coach for the Eagles.
