In Orange League individual golf finals:

Woods wins--Tiger Woods won with a three-day score of (68-73-74) 215, which is one-over par over the three courses used. Scott Ohls of Savanna was second by a stroke (72-71-73, 216) and Jack Drey of Valencia was third (87-79-82, 248).

In Pacific Coast League individual golf finals:

Estancia players win--Estancia had three of the top four players in the finals at Menifee Lakes. Estancia’s Paul Hinkle, who shot a 73-78, 151 (par 144), was the medalist. Estancia’s Chris Beck (78-74, 152) and Tim Pieper (75-79, 154) were second and third and Mark Mignone of Trabuco Hills (78-79, 157) was fourth.

In Sea View League individual golf finals:

Willbanks wins--David Willbanks of Woodbridge won the title with a 14-over-par 158 at Fallbrook. Steve Bemis and Craig Welker of Corona del Mar tied for second at 163 and Mike Sarabia of Newport Harbor defeated John Hadley of University in a playoff after tying for fourth with 165.

In Pacific Coast League boys’ tennis:

Laguna Beach 9, Laguna Hills 9 (Laguna Beach wins on games, 77-62)--Chad Wycoff and Eric Pelton won the final doubles match of the day, 7-6 (7-5), for host Laguna Beach (14-5, 10-0), giving the Artists their first outright league championship since 1984.

In Empire League softball:

Cypress 1, Los Alamitos 0 (9 innings)--Kim Hutcherson singled to lead off the ninth, went to second and third on passed balls and scored on Liz Moore’s single for visiting Cypress. Monica Jiminez (9-3) pitched a one-hitter for Cypress (11-8, 4-4).

In Express League softball:

Claremont 18, Calvary Chapel 10--Nesrine Taylor had two home runs and five runs batted in for host Claremont (10-4, 8-1) to take over first place.

In Freeway League softball:

La Habra 2, Sunny Hills 1 (9 innings)--Visiting La Habra (18-3, 8-0) clinched the league championship after Trisha Seminoff squeezed home Sara Mallett with the winning run in the top of the ninth inning.

In Olympic League softball:

Whittier Christian 6, Ayala 0--Deborah Goddu (6-0) threw a one-hitter with seven strikeouts to lead Whittier Christian past first place Ayala. In Pacific Coast League softball:

Laguna Hills 10, Estancia 9--Laguna Hills scored six runs in the fourth inning with four coming on Sauci Hayes’ two-out grand slam. Laguna Hills (13-6, 7-1) broke a 9-9 tie in the fifth inning to remain in first place.
