26 Nominated for O.C. Honors

Thirteen male and 13 female scholar-athletes have been nominated by their respective leagues for the Orange County athletes of the year awards.

The winners will be announced May 29 at the spring meeting of the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. at the Anaheim Stadium Club. Winners will receive a $500 scholarship.

The nominations:

Academy League: Jen Caruso (Liberty Christian) and Brad Pluckhan (Cal Lutheran).

Angelus League: Melissa McDonald (Mater Dei) and Ricky Ellis (Mater Dei).

Century League: Elizabeth Cruz (Santa Ana Valley) and Mike Terry (El Modena).

Empire League: Tracy Titus (Loara) and Mark Parlin (Esperanza).

Express League: Tanya Swendloff (Claremont) and Kenneth Lester (Claremont).

Freeway League: Ana Kristich (La Habra) and Kenny Overby (Sunny Hills).

Garden Grove League: Becky Elcock (Santiago) and Vince Church (Kennedy).

Orange League: Heather Killeen (Valencia) and Tony Okada (Savanna).

Olympic League: Elaine Kollias (Capistrano Valley Christian) and Nick Sanchez (Whittier Christian).

Pacific Coast League: Amy Ward (Trabuco Hills) and Eric Davis (Laguna Hills).

Sea View League: Amy Robles (Woodbridge) and David Mayeda (University).

South Coast League: Jennifer Brundage (Irvine) and Rob Johnson (El Toro).

Sunset League: Linda Tran (Westminster) and Randy Karliner (Ocean View).
