Ah, Love: A judge convicted Marvelous Marvin Hagler of beating his ex-girlfriend, so now the former world middleweight boxing champion wants a legal rematch. Boston Municipal Court Judge Michael Greco sentenced Hagler, 36, to a year’s probation and 100 hours of community service, but Hagler then exercised his right to a jury trial, set for July 15. Lisa Pilagonia, 34, testified Hagler punched her, cutting her and dislocating her jaw, in an argument at a Boston hotel in 1990. Hagler’s side contends she is out to make money off the former champ and pursued criminal charges only to bolster her civil suit.

* Bojo Come Home: The puppy was found wandering in the Saudi desert by U.S. troops in December. Six months later, he’s ensconced in Master Sgt. William (Butch) Fields’ off-base government duplex in Sumter, S. C. “Once I put him in my pocket that was it,” said Fields, chief of the Shaw Air Force Base firefighting unit and a Persian Gulf War veteran. The Air Force wouldn’t allow Bojo on a military flight, so Fields and his wife, Patty, “borrowed and begged” the $1,400 to fly Bojo home via SwissAir.

* Tour Guide: Ricardo Montalban, star of the former TV series “Fantasy Island,” will be giving people an earful of New Mexico history and culture. As part of a “Hear New Mexico” program, Montalban will record 20 lessons to be broadcast on a special low-frequency AM radio station. Each four-minute message will highlight local attractions.
