Derailment Dumps 5 Cars Into River, Starts Fire

FOUNTAIN CITY, Wis. —
A Burlington Northern freight train derailed Monday, sending five of its 29 cars crashing into the Mississippi River and forcing officials to close the river to barges and other traffic.
The railroad said several carloads of lumber and one car carrying butter caught fire after the two-locomotive train left the tracks near here.
