OXNARD : Motorcyclist Dies After Hitting Car
An Oxnard man died Thursday after his motorcycle slammed into a car on Victoria Avenue, police said.
Jose DeJesus Ramirez, 21, died shortly after he was transported to St. John’s Regional Medical Center, said Oxnard Police Officer Don Mulville.
Ramirez was traveling south about 2:15 p.m. when he ran into a Ford Mustang driven by Paul C. James, 26, of Ventura, Mulville said. The car had stalled in the intersection at Fifth Street, had been restarted and was proceeding through a red light to get out of traffic, Mulville said.
As James began to move west through the intersection, his car was struck broadside by Ramirez’s motorcycle, Mulville said. James was not charged with any violation, he said.
