Warner, Frost Rush for 220 Yards in El Dorado Victory Over Troy

Bryan Warner and Spencer Frost combined to rush for 220 yards and two touchdowns as El Dorado defeated Troy, 16-9, in a nonleague football game Friday at Fullerton District Stadium.

Warner, a junior tailback, led all rushers with 127 yards in 23 carries. He had a 13-yard scoring run in the second quarter.

Frost, a sophomore fullback, finished with 93 in only seven carries. The bulk of that yardage came on a 63-yard scoring run when he busted a simple dive up the middle that gave El Dorado a 6-0 lead with 10 minutes 1 second left in the second quarter.

Troy (0-1-1) cut the lead to 6-3 on a 28-yard field goal by Mark Lowe with 4:58 left in the half, but El Dorado scored again late in the first half.

The Golden Hawks (2-0) drove 71 yards in five plays and Warner scored on a 13-yard run with 11 seconds left in the half. El Dorado also scored on the first possession of the second half.

After holding the ball for the first seven minutes and 10 seconds of the third quarter, El Dorado’s Blayne Leitner made a 22-yard field goal to give the Golden Hawks a 16-3 lead.

Troy cut the lead to 16-9 with 3:37 left in the game on a two-yard run by Kory Silvestri.
