Van Nuys 26, Verdugo Hills 13--Senior running back Harold Boudreaux gained 138 yards in 14 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead host Van Nuys.
Boudreaux, who sat out last year because of academic ineligibility, made an auspicious debut in ’91. He scored on carries of 13 and 51 yards as Van Nuys (1-0) built a 26-0 lead before Verdugo Hills (0-2) scored twice in the fourth quarter.
Boudreaux’s 13-yard score capped a five-play, 43-yard drive on Van Nuys’ opening possession and gave the Wolves a 7-0 lead.
Boudreaux’s 51-yard run came in the third quarter and extended Van Nuys’ lead to 20-0.
