A workhorse effort by tailback Vaughn Dunbar and the precision passing of Trent Green was a winning combination for Indiana Saturday.

Dunbar carried a career-high 39 times for 147 yards and Green completed 17 of 20 passes for 232 yards, including a 42-yard touchdown pass play, as the Hoosiers beat Kentucky, 13-10, at Bloomington, Ind.

It was the fifth time in the last six games that Dunbar ran for more than 100 yards and the eighth time in 14 games. He has run for 1,532 yards in two seasons and already ranks 11th on the school’s career rushing list.

Dunbar rushed four consecutive times, including 28 yards on the third carry, to set up the winning score on a one-yard plunge with 1:52 to play.

Kentucky (1-1) then drove from its 20 to the Indiana 49 before Damon Watts intercepted Brad Smith’s desperation pass at the 13 as time ran out.

Indiana is 1-1.

No. 19 Colorado 58, Minnesota 0--Darian Hagan passed for two touchdowns and freshman tailbacks Kent Kahl and Lamont Warren ran for two apiece as the Buffaloes rolled over the Gophers at Boulder, Colo.

The Buffaloes (2-1) had 612 total yards.

Hagan, playing despite a sprained right thumb that caused him to miss practice time during the week, completed seven of eight passes for 162 yards and touchdown throws of 40 yards to Rico Smith and 30 yards to Mark Henry before giving way to backup Vance Joseph midway through the second quarter.

Minnesota is 1-1.

Wisconsin 7, Iowa State 6--The Badgers blocked Ty Stewart’s 33-yard field-goal attempt with 15 seconds remaining to preserve a victory over the Cyclones at Madison, Wis.

Iowa State (1-2) drove 56 yards to the Wisconsin 16-yard line in 2:43 to set up the kick for Stewart, who had converted two previous field goals. But the Badgers (2-0) blocked this one.
