ROUNDUP : Early Goals Lift CSLA Past Northridge in Soccer

Share

The Cal State Northridge men’s soccer team dug itself a large hole early in Tuesday night’s match at Cal State Los Angeles. The hole was so large, in fact, that the Matadors never were able to crawl out.

After 25 minutes of play, CSUN found itself trailing by five goals en route to a 5-2 nonconference loss.

“It was a nightmare,” CSUN Coach Marwan Ass’ad said. “There were too many mental errors.”

Northridge (4-2) regrouped at halftime and received goals from Matt Zeigler--on an assist by Armando Valdivia--and Danny Daniels, on an assist from Zeigler. But that proved too little, too late.

“We should have scored six goals,” Ass’ad said. “There were four easy misses.”

Cal State Northridge will travel to Cal State Sacramento on Saturday for its next match.
