Redondo 21, Hawthorne 18--Scott Moore kicked a 36-yard field goal with no time remaining to give host Redondo the upset victory. Hawthorne (4-1) is ranked No. 2 in the Southern Section Division III poll and Redondo (3-2) is unranked.

Carson 28, San Pedro 7--Junior Jamie Sander completed 23 of 35 pass attempts for 336 yards and three touchdowns and senior Tony Knox caught five passes for 143 yards and tied a school record with three touchdown receptions for the Colts (3-2) in a nonleague game at Gardena High. Knox caught touchdown passes of 33, 66 and 17 yards. San Pedro is 4-1.

Glendale 47, Burbank 7--Pathon Rucker, a 5-foot-10, 185-pound senior tailback, rushed for 179 yards and three touchdowns in 22 carries to pace host Glendale (4-1).

Rucker had touchdown runs of 24, 13 and seven yards.

Glendale quarterback Nathan Callister rushed for two touchdowns.

South Pasadena 21, Bell-Jeff 14--Bell-Jeff (0-5) scored twice in the fourth quarter but fell short at South Pasadena (4-1).

Bell-Jeff’s Bob Machuca passed to Mike Montygierd for an eight-yard score in the corner of the end zone with 1:43 to play to pull the Guards to within 21-14.

Fairfax 21, Los Angeles 14--Senior quarterback Rahim Muhammad led the visiting Lions (3-1, 2-0 in conference) back from a 14-6 halftime deficit. Muhammed had two interceptions on Los Angeles’ first two possessions of the second half, the second of which he returned 27 yards to the Los Angeles five yard-line.

Senior Chephren Davis, a transfer from North Hollywood, scored on the next play for his second touchdown, and Muhammad passed to Charles Gillum for two-point conversion to tie the score.

Muhammad had 16 carries for 102 yards in the option offense and Davis had 16 caries for 121 yards and scored all three touchdowns on runs of five, five and 33 yards.

Los Angeles drops to 2-3, 0-2.

Dorsey 28, Narbonne 3--Maurice Speak had 15 carries for 93 yards and three touchdowns on runs of three, nine and 20 yards for the second-ranked Dons (3-1) at Jackie Robinson Stadium in a Southern Pacific Conference game. Hamilton 29, University 8--Anthony Dean rushed for 204 yards in 27 carries and two touchdowns for the visiting Yankees (3-2, 2-0). Hamilton’s Arthur George ran back the opening kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown and also scored on a 55-yard pass reception. University is 1-3, 0-2.

Lincoln 44, Verdugo Hills 14--Sophomore Gerardo Roman of host Lincoln (4-1) completed 11 of 15 passes for 297 yards and three touchdowns in a Northern Conference game. Marcello Ortega caught five of those passes for 166 yards and three touchdowns, including a 65-yard touchdown pass to open the second quarter to make the score 24-0. Fernie Delgadillo had five carries for 94 yards and one touchdown with his biggest play being a 55-yard run in the third quarter. Verdugo Hills drops to 0-5.

Flintridge Prep 48, Chadwick 14--Mike Rodriguez rushed for 171 yards in 13 carries for visiting Flintridge Prep (4-1, 1-0) in a Prep League game.
