Jon Barnes completed 25 of 46 passes for 411 yards and three touchdowns, and he also rushed for three touchdowns to lead UC Santa Barbara to a 42-31 nonconference victory over Cal State Hayward Saturday at Santa Barbara.
Amahl Thomas had 10 receptions for 206 yards and two touchdowns for Santa Barbara (3-2).
Hayward is 2-3.
Occidental 17, Trinity (Tex.) 16--Brian Madlangbayan scored on a four-yard run with 3:34 left, and Derrick Williams completed a pass to Daryll Dade for a two-point conversion to give the Tigers (4-0) a nonconference victory at San Antonio, Tex.
Trinity (0-6) scored a touchdown to pull within 17-16 with 1:04 left, but the two-point conversion attempt failed when a pass fell incomplete.
Pomona-Pitzer 22, Claremont 9--Tony Fadulu gained 129 yards in 20 carries for Pomona-Pitzer in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game at Claremont.
Khari Rone gained 95 yards in eight carries for Pomona-Pitzer (1-4, 1-3).
Claremont is 0-5 and 0-3.
