New Mexico State Is Seeking First Victory at CS Fullerton

Share

New Mexico State, which has won only two Big West Conference games in seven seasons, has a good opportunity to increase that total to three today when it plays Cal State Fullerton at 1 p.m. in Santa Ana Stadium.

The Aggies are 0-7 but, according to Fullerton Coach Gene Murphy, have made considerable progress over last season, when they went 1-10.

“They’re for real--they really are,” Murphy said. “They’re bigger and more aggressive up front. They have better skilled people.”

The Aggies have one of the nation’s better tight ends in Todd Cutler, who has a team-leading 28 receptions for 520 yards.

The Titans (1-6) are led by running backs Reggie Yarbrough, who has gained 769 yards in 166 carries, and Arthur Davis, who has 545 yards in 130.
