COMMUNITY COLLEGE WATER POLO : Golden West, Orange Coast Win Conference Titles

Golden West, the No. 1-ranked community college team in the state, defeated Long Beach City, 12-8, in the championship game of the South Coast Conference water polo tournament Saturday at Belmont Plaza in Long Beach.

Alfred Van Dorp scored four goals, and Morgan Courtney had three for Golden West (27-1). Golden West goalie Kevin Dillenbeck had 10 saves.

At the Orange Empire Conference tournament:

Orange Coast 13, Grossmont 12--Robert Worthing scored with 57 seconds left in the second overtime to give Orange Coast (25-6) the victory over Grossmont (25-8) in the final at Saddleback College.

Ian Condon had four goals for Orange Coast.
