Antelope Valley 18, Burroughs Ridgecrest 3--Burroughs (4-5, 1-3) scored first and then watched Freddie Edwards of Antelope Valley take over the show.
Trailing, 3-0, Antelope Valley (6-3, 4-0) took the lead on a 10-yard touchdown reception and two-point conversion run by Edwards, then stretched it out on a 28-yard field goal by Peter Holt with time running out in the first half.
Edwards added a second touchdown late in the third quarter, breaking three tackles and diving into the end zone to culminate a 26-yard run. Edwards, held to 40 yards rushing in the first half, finished with 105--his lowest output of the season. He had 164 all-purpose yards and recorded an interception in the second half.
Antelope Valley’s Bayi Hilton completed 16 of 20 passes for 202 yards with one interception.
