Share

The Newbury Park High girls’ volleyball team found the Southern Section 5-A Division playoff waters to its liking Tuesday night, as the host Panthers thumped Dos Pueblos, 15-8, 12-15, 15-4, 15-6, in a wild-card match. Newbury Park competed in the 4-A last year.

Jenny Cameron had a season-high 30 kills and Kim Correa added 27 digs, but Coach Jeff Campbell said the key was the play of junior setter Tracy Little, who had 52 assists.

“She played the best match of her season,” Campbell said of Little, who had never played setter before this year. “She was definitely the difference.”
