New Talks Scheduled for Montclair Prep, Southern Section

A meeting between officials from the Southern Section and Montclair Prep ended in a stalemate Thursday when the two sides were unable to reach agreement concerning Montclair Prep’s bid for a reduction in penalties levied against its athletics program.

Officials from both parties are scheduled to meet Monday to discuss section sanctions against Montclair Prep in connection with recent violations in the Mounties’ football program.

“We made some suggestions and proposals, but it ended in stalemate,” Montclair Prep Principal V. E. (Doc) Simpson said. “We’ll try again next week.”
