Tustin Guard Moore Picks Texas Christian

Tustin High School guard Gentry Moore has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Texas Christian, Tustin Coach Tom McCluskey said Tuesday.

Moore averaged 9.8 points as a junior, helping the Tillers win the Division II State championship. Moore had recruiting trips planned to the University of San Francisco and Cal State Long Beach before he choose TCU.

In softball, Mater Dei’s battery of pitcher Terri Kobata and catcher Jennifer Cline have signed to attend four-year colleges, Mater Dei Coach Cathy Quesnell said.

Kobata, who also played right field for the Monarchs last year, signed with Notre Dame. She also visited Northwestern and Hawaii.

Cline, who batted .320 as a junior, signed with Washington. She also visited Cal State Long Beach, Arizona, Texas A&M;, Cal, UCLA, Iowa and Creighton.

Both players will become four-year starters for Mater Dei this spring.
