Mustafa Scores 20, Pacing Santa Clara Past Granada Hills

Isaiah Mustafa scored a game-high 20 points Monday to lead Santa Clara High past Granada Hills, 63-40, in a first-round game of the Simi Valley boys’ basketball tournament.

Stevie Amar added 12 points for Santa Clara (1-0), which led, 45-15, at halftime.

Tyrone Jackman scored 10 points to lead Granada Hills (0-2).

In other Simi Valley tournament games:

Royal 59, Canoga Park 52--Senior guard Brett Osterhoudt had a game-high 27 points and 17 rebounds to lead Royal (1-0). Chace Johnson scored 20 points for Canoga Park (1-1).

Glendale 62, Kennedy 58 (OT)--Hai Tran scored 22 points and added seven assists and seven steals to lead Glendale (1-0). Senior forward Mike Wright scored 18 of his 21 points in the second half and overtime to lead Glendale. Joe Wyatt led Kennedy with 15 points.

Taft 72, Camarillo 41--Casey Sheahan scored a game-high 31 points, including four three-point baskets, to lead Taft (2-0).

Simi Valley 65, Oxnard 57--Danny Alexander scored a team-high 19 points for the Pioneers (1-0). Jasper Satterwhite scored a game-high 27 points for Oxnard (0-1).

North Hollywood 94, Keppel 36--Sophomore Damon Ollie scored a game-high 20 points for North Hollywood (2-0), which led, 57-10, at halftime.

Alemany 85, Palmdale 76--Senior forward Richard Dice scored a game-high 26 points and added 13 rebounds for Alemany (1-0).

Stewart Gates scored 18 points for Palmdale (0-1).

Doug Tait scored 17 points and Mike Smith added 16 for Alemany.

Holy Martyrs 56, Moorpark 54--Robert Momjian had 19 points and nine rebounds to lead Holy Martyrs in a first-round game of the Faith Baptist tournament. Sako Balian added 14 points and 13 rebounds for Holy Martyrs.
