In the Brea-Olinda girls’ basketball tournament final:
Brea-Olinda 61, Gahr 30--Nicole Erickson scored 22 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the not-so-gracious hosts to their ninth consecutive title in the tournament.
The victory gave Coach Mark Trahk his 300th career victory and Brea-Olinda its 10th championship in the tournament’s 12 years.
Brea-Olinda’s depth was too much. Three Ladycats scored in double digits, and all nine Ladycats scored. Sarah Beckley added 12 and the tournament MVP, Jody Anton, had 10.
Brea-Olinda (7-0) took a 15-5 first-quarter lead and was never seriously threatened.
Gahr (5-1) was led by senior center Allison Arredondo, who scored 16 points.
