Tustin High School’s Christine Garner and Newport Harbor’s Maureen McLaren, the co-MVPs in Sea View League girls’ volleyball, have announced their college choices.

Garner, a 6-foot middle blocker, has orally committed to Washington State, while McLaren, a 6-foot outside hitter, chose Stanford.

Loyola Marymount and Colorado State each landed two Orange County players.

Mater Dei outside hitter Amy Moeller and Esperanza middle blocker Julie Greer have committed to Loyola Marymount.

El Modena middle blocker Marni Hichborn and Foothill middle blocker Nicole Hoffmann have committed to Colorado State.

Garner, a Times’ all-Orange County second-team selection, picked Washington State over USC, University of the Pacific and Arizona. McLaren was considering Oregon State, Cal and Pacific.

Hichborn averaged 12 kills and seven blocks last season, leading the Vanguards to the Southern Section 3-A finals and the Southern California Regional Division III finals. She chose Colorado State over Oklahoma, Washington, Oregon and Texas.

Hoffmann, who plays for the Orange County Volleyball Club, visited only Colorado State, but also considered Nevada Reno, Idaho, Portland State and University of San Francisco.

Moeller, an all-county first-team selection, led the Monarchs to their best season, finishing second in the Angelus League to Lakewood St. Joseph and advancing to the Southern Section 5-A quarterfinals. She chose Loyola Marymount over St. Mary’s, Santa Clara and USC.

Greer, a 6-1 senior, chose Loyola Marymount over Pepperdine, the University of San Francisco and USC.
