In the San Dieguito tournament:

Trabuco Hills 63, Fallbrook 56--Brett Poulos scored 22 points, make nine of 13 field-goal attempts, for Trabuco Hills in the San Dieguito tournament quarterfinals.

Teammate Corey Klinke scored 10 points and had 10 rebounds and three blocked shots. Chris Miller scored 21 points for Fallbrook.

Crescenta Valley 66, Newport Harbor 61--Justin McIntee scored 22 points and Mark McAnlis scored 19 points, including five three-pointers, for Newport Harbor (5-3) in the consolation round. Crescenta Valley is 6-4.

In the Arroyo Grande tournament:

Santa Margarita 93, Laguna Hills 77--Michael Carpenter scored 30 points as Santa Margarita defeated Laguna Hills in one championship semifinal. Dan Bathey added 27 for Santa Margarita.

Laguna Hills led, 25-18, after the first quarter but Santa Margarita rallied and led, 33-31, at the half. Santa Margarita then pulled away by outscoring Laguna Hills, 27-12, in the third quarter.

Santa Margarita plays Arroyo Grande tonight for the championship.

In the consolation semifinals of the La Verne Damien Tournament:

El Dorado 79, City of Industry Workman 47--Mike Johnson scored seven of his 14 points in the first quarter as the Hawks led, 19-6, after eight minutes and continued to pull away for the victory.

Eric Hargrove led El Dorado (4-3) with 15 and Brent D’Arc added 12.

Eddie Love topped Workman with 14.

In nonleague basketball:

Estancia 43, Mission Viejo 34--Matt Fuerbringer had 21 points as the host Eagles improved to 6-3. Kurt Zimmerman led Mission Viejo with 17.

Tustin 65, Foothill 48--Derek Roche made seven of eight field goals and six of seven free throws for 22 points as the visiting Tillers (6-5) moved over the .500 mark.

Foothill’s Jared Winger led all scorers with 26.

Tab Reed added 14 and Maurice Fletcher 11 for Tustin.

Mater Dei 81, St. Paul 41--Reggie Geary scored 19 points and had eight assists and five steals for Mater Dei (10-0). St. Paul is 4-2.

Orange 68, Loara 42--Pete Gonzalez scored a game-high 24 points for Loara.

Liberty Christian 66, Rio Hondo Prep 63--Toby Curto scored 18 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter, including the last six baskets of the game for Liberty Christian (7-3).

Liberty Christian was down by 12 points with seven minutes remaining to play, then outscored Rio Hondo, 24-9. Liberty Christian’s Dave Vaccaro had 18 rebounds. Jeff Fairley scored 14 points for Rio Hondo.
