HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP : Torrey Pines Edges San Dieguito

Share

Three days after losing its first boys’ soccer match of the season, top-ranked Torrey Pines High dominated its Monday night matchup with No. 2 San Dieguito, but could muster only a 1-0 victory.

Jose Carruitero scored the lone goal in the first half, off nifty combination passes from T.K. Imbody and Andy Strasner.

The Falcons kept the ball in San Dieguito territory much of the time but a staunch Mustang defense kept Torrey Pines from getting many scoring opportunities.
