BOYS’ SOCCER ROUNDUP : Weber’s Hat Trick Propels Kennedy Past Bolsa Grande

Robert Weber had his third hat trick of the season in Kennedy’s 6-0 victory over Bolsa Grande in a Garden Grove League boys’ soccer match Wednesday at Bolsa Grande.

Ryan Bean scored two goals and Seung Lee one, and David Heaton had three assists for Kennedy (9-3, 4-1 in league).

R.J. Gonzalez did not have to make a save in his fifth shutout of the season.

In another Garden Grove League match:

La Quinta 4, Rancho Alamitos 2--Tuan Dang scored La Quinta’s final three goals, including a 30-yard shot midway through the second half to tie the score. Dang has scored eight goals in the past four games for La Quinta (6-6, 4-1).

In the Angelus League:

Mater Dei 2, Servite 0--R.J. Kelley and Trevor Ickes scored for Mater Dei (11-4-2, 2-0). Tom Evans had seven saves for the Monarchs, ranked 10th in Orange County.

In the Century League:

El Modena 1, Villa Park 0--Jason Martinez scored the game’s only goal on a direct kick for host El Modena (6-1, 2-0). A hand-ball call against Villa Park (9-2-2, 0-1-1), the ninth-ranked team in the county, set up Martinez’s game-winner.

In the Empire League:

El Dorado 4, Loara 0--Dan Molnar had two goals and Carlos Cedano and Munraj Singh scored for visiting El Dorado (10-1-5, 2-0), which is ranked eighth in the county. Goalkeeper Blayne Leitner had two saves for El Dorado before being replaced by Nate Anderson 15 minutes into the second half. Anderson had four saves in preserving El Dorado’s school-record 10th shutout of the season.

Los Alamitos 3, Esperanza 0--Anthony Rosa had two goals, Pat Lee scored one and Teddy Watson had two assists for host Los Alamitos (6-5-2, 1-1).

In the Freeway League:

La Habra 1, Fullerton 1--Jon Corke scored on a diving header off a throw-in with 18 minutes left, giving host Fullerton (3-6-4, 1-0-1) the tie. Rafael Villegas scored a first-half goal for La Habra (6-2-6, 1-0-1).

In the Pacific Coast League:

Costa Mesa 1, Laguna Beach 0--Jim Schwab scored on header after the ball deflected off the goal post 25 minutes into the first half for visiting Costa Mesa (1-11, 1-1). Laguna Beach is 1-7, 0-2.

Estancia 2, Century 1--Kevin Westman scored on a 15-yard header after a pass from Juan Camberon with three minutes left in the match for Estancia (5-5-2, 2-0).

Trabuco Hills 4, Laguna Hills 3--Trabuco Hills scored three goals in the second half to rally from a 3-1 deficit. Nate Urone scored the winning goal with 10 minutes remaining for Trabuco Hills (7-6-1, 2-0).

In the Orange League:

Anaheim 5, Savanna 1--Jaime Garcia had three goals and Alex Perez had two for Anaheim (7-1-7, 1-0).

In the South Coast League:

Capistrano Valley 3, San Clemente 1--Scott Shone and Chris Wallace scored second-half goals for No. 5 Capistrano Valley (13-3-1, 1-1). Kris Wooley tied the score, 1-1, 15 minutes into the second half for San Clemente (5-8-1, 0-2).

In the Sunset League:

Huntington Beach 0, Santa Ana 0 (OT)--Matt Goldman, who had nine saves for visiting Huntington Beach (8-6-4, 1-1-2), stopped Miguel Abarca on a breakaway in the first overtime half to help preserve the tie. Santa Ana, the top-ranked team in the county, is 10-3-1, 1-1-1.

Ocean View 3, Marina 1--Bradley Walker and Chad Lawson scored in the second half to break a 1-1 halftime tie for Ocean View (10-4-2, 3-0-0), ranked second in Orange County. Chris Hames scored for No. 6 Marina (10-5-3, 0-3-1).
