Padgett solidified his position as Orange County’s most dominant wrestler by winning the 160-pound weight class of the Five Counties Invitational Saturday. Padgett won three of his five matches by pin, including one in which he pinned his opponent in 13 seconds. In the title match against Ross Funchess, Padgett won, 13-3, to boost his record to 29-0 this season. “Matt just wears you down until you are a little pile and then he puts you away,” Canyon Coach Gary Bowden said. “It’s a ferocious onslaught.” The onslaught is expected to continue at Canyon at 7 tonight, when the Comanches, ranked second in the county, take on No. 5 El Modena. Canyon, which has won 82 consecutive dual meets, last lost to Rosemead in December, 1986.
