Fisher Helps Northridge End 17-Game Road Losing Streak

Percy Fisher’s late-game shooting helped Cal State Northridge end a 17-game road losing streak with an 82-73 victory in overtime over Northern Arizona.

With nine seconds remaining in regulation, Fisher sank a 10-foot turnaround jump shot to send the game into overtime.

In the extra session, the 6-foot-7 junior from San Francisco scored six of Northridge’s first eight points.

Fisher finished with 14 points and nine rebounds, matching his season highs in both categories.

It was the Matadors’ first victory on the road since Jan. 15, 1991 and their third road victory since moving to the Division I ranks last season.

Northridge (5-13) rallied from a 61-52 deficit with five minutes remaining in the game. The Matador press forced five consecutive turnovers and the Lumberjacks (6-9) contributed by shooting 26% in the second half.

Keith Gibbs led Northridge with 22 points.
