A pronounced height advantage inside was overcome by aggressive defense Thursday night as St. Paul High defeated Crespi, 54-49, in a boys’ Mission League basketball game at St. Paul.

Matt Olney (6-foot-4) and Jesse Paderas (6-3) limited Crespi front-line players Randy Coleman (6-6) and Matt Carpenter (6-8) to a combined 10 points, although both Celt starters entered the game with double-figure scoring averages.
